LTD �Scientific research institute of geological and geoecological problems�

The Institute possesses a unique uranium isotope method of detection, and studies the occurrences in hydrosphere of the Earth, based on the use of disequilibrium uranium as the detector (Cherdyntsev-Chalov effect�). Thanks to the presence in our team of one of the founders of the method, our alpha-spectrometric laboratory is the only one in Russia capable of making tests and measurements, required in the study of space and time aspects of change of uranium isotope content in underground and surface waters.
The institute conducts scientific research work with consequent qualified conclusion in the following directions:

• indicator modeling of the processes of formation and circulation of underground flows;
• study of the interaction processes of waters of various horisons;
• neotectonic zones tracing, detection, contouring of spots with deep waters inflow containing toxic chemicals in the zones and calculating their proportion in total water take-in;
• determination of reasons of underground clear water pollution in the conditions of intense exploitation of virgin water bearing horizons;
• study of structure and reasons of soil pollution with heavy metals;
• estimation of danger of exhaustion or pollution of underground clear water in the conditions of intense water suction;
• prediction of pollution odds of underground and spring waters and development of recommendations for troubleshooting and prevention of those processes;
• evaluation of the present state of the environment for the approval of reconstruction and building of industrial enterprises;
• toxicological estimation of the condition of water sources in the regions of enterprises under construction and reconstruction;
• development of recommendations for the enhancement of environmental protection;
• detection of geopatogenic zones;
• study of the genesis of radon waters in the conditions of the platform areas;
• radiological study of the terrain;
• estimation of the mineral water formation process and its resource;
• detection of the reasons for flooding of territories;
• detection of ecologically safe areas for industrial and community liquid waste;
  

Brief review of scientific practical work of the institute

LTD "Scientific-research institute of geological and related ecological problems during 1997-2001 years worked as a self managing department of the National Science and Arts Academy of the Chuvash Republic, and since 2001 it has become an autonomous enterprise. From the moment of its creation the institute has made several scientific-research works at the order of a number of our Clients on the solution of specific scientific and practical problems of geology, hydrogeology, and geoecology. 
Particularly, it has led (highly estimated by outer experts) works on prediction and prevention of pollution of underground clear and spring water on the territory of the cities Cheboksary, Novocheboksarsk, as well as in the settlement of Vurnary and its region on the territory of the Chuvash Republic; works on evaluation of the present state of various environmental components in the reconstruction of the Open Stock Society "VZSP", toxicological study of the state of water sources in the area of Open Stock Society "Khimprom"; search of kimberlitic pipes - diamond deposits on the territory of Yalchiki region of the Chuvash Republic and in south-western part of Tatarstan; study of contact area of Cheboksary HPS with geological environment, as well as study of the formation process of radon waters on the territory of Udmurt Republic.
The institute presently works on the territory of other republics and regions, because of financial shortage of the potential customers in the Chuvash Republic. There are customers from the other regions of the Volga basin interested in the use of the unique and highly efficient methods of the solution of actual problems of geology, hydrogeology and geoecology. At the moment the institute works at the study of under water ecological state in the regions of Kirov Kirovo-Chepetsk at the IUS USA grant, as well as in the region of Chapayevsk city of the Samara oblast at the order of Kuibyshev GRE.
